COMPETITIONS
Win first-class
InterRail tickets
and a Sony HDTV
Celebrate the release of The International with a
jaunt to Rome, or anywhere in Europe you fancy
When banks aren’t worrying about credit crunches
or using ‘black’ as a prefix for days of the week,
they’re secretly giving terrorists money to do naughty
things – well, they are if The International, starring Clive
Owen and Naomi Watts, is anything to go by. As part
of the film’s release on Blu-ray and DVD from 6 July,
we’re giving you the chance to see it for yourself,
courtesy of Sony, with the winner receiving a Sony
Bravia HDTV and Sony Blu-ray player so that they can
watch their free copy of the film in the high-def format.
In addition, the winner will receive a pair of first-class
InterRail passes giving 10 days of unlimited rail
travel in a 22-day period, courtesy of Rail Europe
(Raileurope.co.uk), the UK’s leading provider of
European rail passes. So you can bring down a
pan-continent terrorist ring at the drop of a hat – or,
you know, go and see
some museums.
Win an LCD TV, Xbox 360
and a copy of Star Ocean
According to the great minds of history,
by the year 2000 we were supposed
to be either fashioning clothes out of
silver foil or living on the moon. As far
as we can see, the ‘roast chicken’ look
hasn’t taken off quite yet, so we’d much
rather play Star Ocean: The Last Hope,
40 / WWW.SHORTLIST.COM
set in 2087 when a private rocket may
actually be plausible. As part of the
game’s release, we’re giving you
the chance to win a limited-edition
collector’s copy of the game, along
with a Sony 32-inch LCD TV and an
Xbox 360 to play it on.

Win an Acer netbook
and Brain Exercise game
“Going through the pain barrier, that’s
what makes the muscles grow,” says
ex-bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger.
If you don’t fancy a really bad headache,
but still want to make your mind muscle
bigger, enter our competition to win an
Acer netbook computer and a copy of
Dr Kawashima’s Brain Exercise to play on
it instead, and soon you could be making
your grey matter work up a sweat.
Win dinner at a luxury restaurant
and a case of Rick Stein’s wine

“Hello, Rogue Traders? I have
a builder to report…”
According to science, the way to a
woman’s heart is through a selection
of impromptu gifts, nice smells and a
well-written letter. ShortList, on the other
hand, believes dinner for four (perhaps
your lady and two of her friends) at the
acclaimed Sam’s Brasserie in west
London and a case of Rick Stein’s red
wine will do the same job and prevent
multiple trips to John Lewis.
