Zero emissions, one wheel
The Uno motorbike: the
future of light transport
confused? Us too. But it turns
out this one-wheeled oddball of a
motorbike could be the answer to
the world’s pollution worries. Kind of.
Built from scratch by 19-year-old
canadian inventor Ben J Poss Gulak
(props to him for his name alone)
this one-wheeled speedster is called
the Uno – and it runs on electricity.
Sure future predictions: Greater competition from female colleagues and growing
pressure from globalisation is making work an increasingly complex maze of
challenges and possibilities. To keep ahead in their careers, men will have to embrace
right-brain thinking (traditionally associated with women) and learn to perform
under greater pressure than ever before. Visit Sureformen.co.uk/designthefuture
Sure for Men is proven to work at 58°C, the hottest temperature ever recorded
on earth. So when competition is heating up, you will keep your cool.

totally silent when in action, it
stands upright thanks to a second
wheel adjacent to the one you can
see. “it’s similar to the Segway in
that it has a couple of gyros and neat
electrical sensors,” said Gulak. “its
top speed is 15mph, but right now it’s

Brilliantly, the designer received
a £1.25m development grant after
appearing on canada’s Dragons’ Den
in early June. “Now i can start hiring
some full-time people,” he said.
“The good news is we’ve found
your bike. The bad news is…
well, you better come see”
Gulak rejected the idea of
adapting existing motorcycle
bodywork in favour of his own
design. he chose orange and grey
to avoid any trademark
entanglements with Kawasaki.
the designer’s set to fly to
Shanghai to talk to a company about
developing the product and then
getting it into the market. “the plan
is to get it into a product-ready stage
in the next year,” he said.

Introducing Channel 4’s
The Kevin Bishop Show
Let’s face it, Friday night
programming is struggling. First
Justin Lee collins and Alan carr
are switched, somewhat oddly,
to Sunday, and now Jonathan
ross is off counting up his
pennies for another year. thank
heavens, then, for channel 4’s
decision to offer Kevin Bishop
his own series.
From the team behind
channel 4’s award-winning Star
Stories, the inspirationallynamed
the Kevin Bishop Show
offers up six episodes, each
packing over 40 sketches into
its 30-minute slot.
“people ARe beING SHoRT-

characters include an Aled
Jones-esque boy-band choirboy
(pictured), Prison Break with
Amy & Blake and screen-tests of
Bruce Forsyth in the Shining.
Bishop said, “A lot of the public
are being short-changed with
sketch shows. the performances
were brilliant quality but people
were seeing the same joke told
six times in a series. we felt it
was time to give people a bit
more for their money.”
other sketches set to tickle
your mirth are carry on… hand
Luggage, as well as the Nursery
rhyme crime Squad.
